Studio Time

I have much to learn in my time working in the studio. So far, I have only had two major jobs while working in the studio. As time goes on, I want to become more acquainted with some of the other jobs that there are to do. I have still done enough to discuss my time spent in the studio.

The first major job I had was doing the audio mix. My job was basically to make sure the volumes and sounds of the live video were at an appropriate level, so they never got to loud or quiet. The job was not to difficult and it did not require a lot of work but, it did require me to memorize what some of the switches on the machine were for. The other job I had was being one of the camera men. Sadly, due to technical difficulties, I did not get to do much with this job other learn some of the camera settings. I see the importance of the jobs and hope to learn more.

Only time will tell how far I will go in the studio. I want to have more experience with the studio jobs and get better at them. The more I do these jobs, the more comfortable I will become with them.

The most interesting aspect of this class so far is being able to actually see how the studio works. All of the equipment is present, and we are going into detail on how all of it works. Everything in the studio functions in a system, and requires a lot for it to work. It is important to learn about the equipment and the studio itself that way, it everyone will be interested and understand what they are doing.

The aspect of production that I find to be the most interesting is the recording processes. The recording processes is basically the collection of the footage needed for a T.V. show or movie. If a studio does not have the ability to record, then it can do no work in television. Recording is possibly the most important part of production, due to it being what is shown on television. Recording in a production studio takes a lot of time and effort but, it gives other jobs in the studio the material they need to work with.

Everything in life that operates is based off of a system. A system is the setting for everything, how everything works when together. When working with or in a system a person needs to know not just how the whole system works but, how each individual part of the system works. For a system to work properly, every part of the if must function.

The system flows well when every piece of it is functioning properly. A studio works well when all the different equipment like the lights, cameras, cables, screens, and everything else is put into place and is in working order. People themselves are part of a system with their careers, and the system works at its best when everyone and everything is doing their jobs correctly. When I am working and planning on my career, I am and will be part of a system as well, so my work will effect others. Everyone and everything function off each other, so it all must be in sync, so the system does not stop working.

A system works off of everything. All parts of the system must be in proper order. The studio is only an example of a system with all the different equipment and people needed for it. All systems have parts to them, that make them work.
